I have been using certain cloud backup service for a few years now. It is not perfect, but they have a decent desktop client and mobile app. And there was a due date for my annual subscription payment.
Coincidentally a few weeks ago I read an article and watched accompanying video on this blog. The guy there gives various financial advice including on how to save money.
I wanted to try to negotiate a better price for my cloud backup service using tips above. I was not successful. They kept the price.
However, they gave me 2 months of the service for free by extending my current plan two months/postponing the due date by two months.
Two months is not much and I will have to pay the full price again, but it’s a start. In the future, I will negotiate better prices for my other bills as well.
